I do! I do!

Marriage is an interesting topic. There are simply so many views on it. Society as a whole promotes it. It does have its benefits such as two incomes, two parents if there are children, tax breaks, prevents transmission of STDs if both partners are faithful, lifelong sex (if you marry the right person), etc.
The things that aren't so good about marriage include becoming part of a family that may not want you, flexibility to move decreases if both people work, obligation to family to have kids, no real alone time from your partner, and all in all you may just wish you did not buy the cow.
I do want to get married at some point. I don't want to get married for any of the reasons above, though. I just want the security of knowing that my partner-in-crime will always be there. I am a social person, and I keep my friends for life, to some level. One is the loneliest number.

What makes you ready to get married? I am not really sure. I think you just take the plunge when it feels right. I personally only have a small amount of student loans, I have a Bachelor's degree, an ok paying job, and no other huge obligations. That pretty much means that I can do as I please. When I feel I am ready to say "I do" I will.

Until then there are far more exciting adventures. Besides I am only 22!
